This murder/mystery is still one of my favorite stories ever and I truly can’t wait to read the second volume: the conclusion of this 3rd arc!
Like I said before, we see more depth into side characters and the mind games really fuck your mind a little if you stop paying attention to the details.
I think the author along with the artist are working on this interesting project that keeps the audience right on their toes. So, what is the truth? Perhaps a little both of them, which is truly entertaining to see. On the other, we have a naïve girl who doesn’t want to get scolded by others, and who’s game is the only motivation to keep going. Now the title of the Golden Witch and the name Beatrice are the same for every witch, and it might get a little confusing so, for the sake of understanding the different witches, I’m gonna call Battler’s current opponent, Beato.īeato is showing us the diffent shades of her character: on one hand, we have this cruel, mean and witty witch that rejoices on people’s suffering. Later, two more witches appear: Virgilia, Beato’s predecessor who was disguised as Kumazawa-san and thanks to her witty in solving the epitaph, Eva’s alter ego becomes the next Golden Witch. He’s willing to sacrifice everybody in order to see Beatrice once again, even if she doesn’t feel real sympathy for him. We also learn that Kinzo’s obsession with occultism takes its toll on everyone around him, including her. In the first chapters we get to know a little bit more of this human Beatrice, who was indeed Kinzo’s mistress but who also lived as a caged animal, unknown to people outside her little mansion placed in Rokkenjima Island.

Unica nota dolente, riguarda questa volta il servizio Amazon: mi è arrivato con alcune pagine strappate all'interno (una decina circa) e dei graffi in copertina, ma non ho contattato il servizio clienti perchè già avevo avuto un problema con l'ultimo ordine, quindi mi seccava mandarlo indietro, però non posso dirmi soddisfatta. Questa edizione della Yen Press è proprio ben fatta: il volume si presenta come un librone di più di 500 pagine, di cui una decina a colori la qualità della carta e della stampa è discreta, forse avrei gradito una copertina rigida per un libro di queste dimensioni, ma considerato il rapporto quantità di pagine\ prezzo, proprio non si poteva chiedere di più. Mi era venuta di recente voglia di dare una ripassata alla storia, ma visto che reperire la visual novel non è semplice, ho ripiegato sul manga, al quale non mi ero mai avvicinata.ĭevo dire che ne sono rimasta piacevolmente colpita: seppure lo stile del disegno non sia particolarmente ricercato (in genere preferisco uno stile con maggiori dettagli), riesce a riproporre molto bene i personaggi e alcuni dei passaggi più significativi inoltre, chi si è limitato a visionare solo l'anime, troverà la storia decisamente più ricca e piena di dettagli.Į' da dire che leggere la storia sapendo già tutto, da una parte toglie un po' del gusto, ma dall'altra aiuta a comprendere le mille sfumature e sfaccettature sfuggite alla prima visione\lettura. Come molti, ho conosciuto Umineko no naku koro ni attraverso l'anime (fatto non benissimo), per poi passare al materiale originale, ovvero la visual novel: è così che ho conosciuto un vero capolavoro, che continuo ad apprezzare anche a distanza di anni (tutt'oggi continuo a sentire quasi quotidianamente le sue meravigliose OST).
